More fun in the Philippines
More fun in the Philippines
We finally ticked the Philippines off of our bucket list
This year, the travel bucket list for me and my husband had to include a country that we had never been to, close to Thailand and without any visa requirements. We quickly decided on the Philippines.
The Philippines had been on our list for a while, not least because there are three of our favorite Accor hotel brands in Manila that we really wanted to visit and we planned to stay at them all during our trip in February.
First night
The first hotel we stayed in was Fairmont Makati (No Fairmont hotel in Thailand yet). We booked using our Stay Plus night which was awesome! Our first impression of the hotel was wonderful; even though we arrived at 4 am, the hotel staff were waiting for us in front of the hotel and greeted us like celebrities! Then they escorted us to our room and we were overwhelmed to find that it had been decorated especially for our wedding anniversary.
We started our day in Fairmont Makati with a complimentary welcome drink as usual, then headed to the restaurant to enjoy our 50% dining discount. We would definitely recommend you dine in at hotel restaurants whenever you travel abroad. It’s really worth it to try their food at our member prices. As always, we received a warm welcome as an Accor Plus member everywhere we travelled with Accor.
Second night
We did not want to move far on the second night, so we stayed at Raffles Makati which is next door to the Fairmont. My husband always dreamed of staying here and as soon as we saw the Black Friday promotion in November, we made a booking immediately.
Even though the Accor Plus dining benefit is actually not applicable at Raffles, they had an exclusive offer for members at the fine dining restaurant “Mirèio” when we were there, so we got a 50% discount on our special dinner. Lucky us! Thank you Accor Plus!
Third night
The last two nights were our favourite time during the trip. We stayed at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila which is a resort located in Manila bay. We felt truly relaxed in this resort with its wonderful sea views. My husband loved the fact that there are so many activities available and we could not wait to try them all.
The restaurant Spiral amazed us too with an incredible range of; buffet options, its big cheese room and the most live cooking stations we have ever seen in a restaurant. We were trying to sample all the food there but it’s too bad that we could not – there was simply too much on offer and I could not describe it all.
You will just have to try it yourself and I highly recommend that you do! And of course, Accor Plus members also get a dining benefit here of up to 50% off!
Fourth night
The last two nights here were different from the other two as it was livelier and more energetic. You can find everything here without leaving the resort, from restaurant and bar to the spa. We had was such a lovely time!
Our first trip to the Philippines would not have been nearly as perfect without Accor Plus. One thing we love is the warm welcome and care for members we experience in Accor properties. All the staff from every hotel we stayed in looked after us very well during our visit and we could not believe that we were travelling outside Thailand!
Thank you so much for creating a memorable trip and thank you Accor Plus. We can’t wait to experience more!
